Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 13-week travel contract in Augusta, GA, with required orthopedic surgical experience and on-call responsibilities.

Details

• Position is based in a Main OR setting with 13 operating rooms
• Surgical cases include orthopedic, general, urology (open and cystoscopy), and minor vascular procedures — open heart, transplants, and eye cases are not performed
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Unit staffed with RNs, surgical techs, support staff, and board runners
• Equipment includes Stryker Ortho Systems, Stryker Lap Towers, da Vinci Xi Robots (x2), MAKO Navigation (Stryker), and OMNI Navigation
• EMR system: Meditech
• Shift hours are 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM
• On-call shifts required: 4–5 per 4-week period
• Weekend rotation required with no fixed set schedule
• Floating to other areas may be required if ORs are shut down, with internal floating prioritized before assisting in other areas

Requirements

• Active RN license — GA or Compact license required
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of assignment)
• Minimum 2 years of recent OR nursing experience required
• Orthopedic major joint experience is required
• Experience in general, urology (open and cystoscopy), and minor vascular surgery required
• Major vascular experience is a plus
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration — no Canadian SSNs accepted
• One professional reference required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more in the past 12 months

• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
• Scrubs are provided by the facility at no cost

• Sterile processing is located on the same floor as the OR
