Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with NICU experience for a 13-week night shift travel assignment at an acute care hospital in Fredericksburg, VA.
Details
- Night shift position, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Three 12-hour shifts per week, including every other weekend
- Respiratory Therapy department within a 140-bed hospital, with NICU focus
- Patient population includes adults and neonates (NICU)
- Equipment used includes Hamilton C1, V60, and Hamilton MR1 ventilators
- Documentation system: Meditech
- No floating required
Requirements
- Active RRT credential required; license required if applicable
- Minimum 2 years of general respiratory therapy experience, with active experience within the last 6 months
- NICU experience required, with a minimum skill level of 3 in NICU competencies
- Proficiency in CPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula, Bubble CPAP, and intubation assistance with mechanical ventilation
- BLS and ACLS required (AHA or ARC accepted; certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
- NRP required for all RT staff caring for neonates
- NRP must be current from the American Academy of Pediatrics
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required (two required for candidates licensed in Florida or Missouri)
- No gaps in work history totaling 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory therapy services to neonatal and adult patients, including ventilator management and airway support
- All black scrubs required
- NRP Preferred; however, can be obtained after hire (ACLS similarly preferred but obtainable post-hire per facility notes — BLS/ACLS listed as preferred, NRP required per HCA policy for neonatal RT staff)
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — no local candidates accepted
