Description

American Traveler is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of IR Body/IR Neuro experience at a Level 1 Trauma Center for a 13-week assignment at an academic medical center in Winston-Salem, NC.

Details

  • 885-bed Level 1 Trauma Center and academic medical center with a designated Chest Pain Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center
  • 8-room Interventional Radiology department averaging 45–50 cases per day
  • Patient population includes IR Body and IR Neuro cases: stroke, cancer, tumors, peripheral/carotid/IVC/SVC occlusions, subdural fistulas, complex embolization, thrombectomy, thrombolysis, sclerotherapy, Y-90/SIR-Spheres, biopsies, and various drainage and access procedures
  • Team structure includes 2 techs per room with an RN, supported by tech extenders (2 per day) for room turnover, paperwork, transport, and inventory
  • EMR: Epic Encompass (experience required)
  • Equipment includes Siemens, GE, and Philips imaging systems and GE ultrasound units
  • Flexible scheduling options: 3x12s (0800–1830), 4x10s, or 5x8s (0800–1630); 40 hours per week
  • On-call requirement of 3–4 call days per month; weekend call every 5th–6th weekend from approximately Friday 1630 to Monday 0800
  • No floating required
  • Schedule posted on a 4–6 week cycle; schedule questions can be clarified with the manager during the final interview

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience specific to IR Body and/or IR Neuro at a Level 1 Trauma Center
  • Experience at an academic teaching hospital preferred given the work environment
  • BLS and ARRT-R or RCIS certification required
  • License required if applicable
  • Proficiency in scrubbing and assisting with IR procedures, as well as circulating, operating equipment, and providing supplies
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • At least 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
  • Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

  • First-time travelers are accepted for this position
  • Candidates who have worked a permanent position at an Advocate Health Southeast facility must be separated from that facility for at least 1 year before being considered
  • Orientation of up to 2 weeks provided
  • Department has a culture that includes new graduates and preceptorship; candidates should be comfortable working alongside and mentoring newer staff
  • Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays if scheduled
  • RTO requests require manager approval
  • Hospital-provided scrubs
  • Free parking on-site
