Description
American Traveler is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist with at least 1 year of experience for a travel assignment at a Level I Trauma, Teaching, and Children's Hospital in New Mexico.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting, including inpatient and outpatient nuclear medicine services
- Facility is a Level I Trauma Center, Teaching Hospital, and Children's Hospital with 554 staffed beds
- Nuclear medicine department includes 4 general rooms, 1 SPECT/CT room, and 2 PET/CT rooms
- Primary patient population is adults and geriatrics; pediatric cases (neonates, infants, adolescents) may be encountered
- Procedures include standard diagnostic nuclear medicine imaging such as cardiac, bone scan, HIDA, MUGA, renogram, liver/spleen, and infection imaging
- SPECT/CT procedures include infection imaging, MIBG, whole-body I-123 and I-131 imaging, and Y-90 imaging
- PET/CT procedures include FDG, Dotatate, and PSMA scanning
- Therapy procedures include I-131, Xofigo, and Lutathera
- 5x8-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
- Call coverage is minimal; on-call hours are 4:00 PM to 6:00 AM Monday–Friday and 24-hour coverage on weekends
- Charting is performed in Cerner
- No floating within the department or to sister facilities required
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of nuclear medicine technologist experience required
- ARRT (N) or NMTCB certification required; ARRT (R) also required
- Current BLS required
- New Mexico state license required if applicable; pending state license accepted
- PET license preferred
- RQI certifications are not accepted
- Proficiency with IV starts, phlebotomy, and drawing venous blood required
- Experience with PACS, SPECT, cardiac imaging, bone scans, brain scans, liver/spleen scans, lung scans, renal flow, thyroid studies, tumor localization, and myocardial imaging required
- Experience with storing, handling, and disposal of radioactive materials required
- Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

- COVID vaccination is required; religious and medical exemptions are accepted with a completed exemption form (medical exemptions must be signed by a provider)
- Hunter green scrubs required
- Free parking is available on site
- RTO requests exceeding 7 days require approval; all scheduling requests should be noted at the time of application
- Travelers who have worked 4 consecutive assignments or reached the one-year mark at this facility are required to take a 6-month break before returning
