Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cath Lab position in Florida, requiring a minimum of two years of recent Cath Lab experience and an active FL or Compact RN license.

Details

Hospital-based Cath Lab setting
4x10-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM–6:00 PM
On-call required on both weekdays and weekends
Patient population includes cardiac cath and interventional procedures
Procedures include Diagnostic Right & Left Heart Cath, Interventional Cath, and Procedural Sedation Administration/Monitoring
Additional skills utilized include Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz Monitoring and Dysrhythmia Interpretation/Management
Epic EMR experience required
Local candidates within a 60-mile radius are considered

Requirements

Active FL or Compact RN license currently in hand
Current BLS and ACLS certifications via AHA required
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
Minimum 2 years of recent Cath Lab experience required
Cardiac Cath Level I Trauma experience required
Ability to circulate required; scrubbing preferred
Experience with Procedural Sedation, Dysrhythmia Interpretation, and Swan Ganz/Pulmonary Artery Line Monitoring required
Degree must be from an accredited or FBON-approved institution
Candidates with a degree from a non-accredited institution must also have at least 2 years of consecutive acute care experience within the past 24 months in a US hospital
Epic EMR experience required
Proof of vaccination status required; declinations are not accepted

Additional Information

This is a smoke-free facility
A pass/fail Basic Arrhythmia (EKG) assessment is required; candidates who do not score 100% on lethal rhythms will be given a re-take exam (Dysrhythmia Exam B) and must pass within 24 hours before starting their first shift
Re-take passing criteria: overall Angoff score of 83% or greater, 100% in the lethal rhythm section, and 83% or higher in all other sections
A study guide and tips to help prepare for the arrhythmia assessment are available through the facility's online orientation
