Description
American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist with at least 2 years of IR Body/IR Neuro experience at a Level 1 Trauma Center for a 13-week assignment at an academic medical center in Winston-Salem, NC.
Details
- Level 1 Trauma Center and academic medical center with 885 licensed beds, designated as both a Chest Pain Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center
- 8-room Interventional Radiology department averaging 45–50 cases per day
- Neuro cases include stroke, ruptures, and subdural fistulas; body cases include traumas, complex embolization, thrombectomy, thrombolysis, sclerotherapy, Y-90/SIR-Spheres, biopsies, and various drainage and access procedures
- 2 techs per room alongside an RN; supported by tech extenders who assist with room turnover, transport, paperwork, and inventory
- EMR: Epic Encompass (experience required)
- Imaging equipment includes Siemens, GE, and Philips imaging systems, as well as GE ultrasound units
- Shift options include 3x12s (0800–1830), 4x10s (0800–1830), or 5x8s (0800–1630), totaling 40 hours per week
- 3–4 on-call days required per month; weekend call approximately every 5th–6th weekend (Friday ~1630 through Monday 0800)
- No floating required
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience specific to IR Body and/or IR Neuro at a Level 1 Trauma Center
- Current BLS required
- ARRT-R or RCIS certification required
- Active license required, if applicable
- Proficiency in scrubbing and assisting in IR procedures, as well as circulating, operating equipment, and providing supplies
- At least 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
- Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
- Must be separated from any Advocate Health Southeast (AHSE) facility for at least 1 year after holding a permanent position before being eligible
- Orientation is up to 2 weeks
- Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays if scheduled
- RTO requests require manager approval; schedules are set on a 4–6 week cycle
- Department has a collaborative culture that includes new graduates and may involve preceptorship responsibilities
- Hospital-provided scrubs; free parking on-site
