Description

American Traveler is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist with CCC-SLP certification and LTC/SNF experience for a 13-week travel contract at a long-term acute care facility in Hondo, TX.

Details

• Long-term care (LTC) facility with a short-term rehabilitation unit
• 75-bed community care center
• Treats patients with communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders
• EMR: Restore
• Monday through Friday, 8-hour day shifts; start time must be between 6AM and 10AM, consistent and communicated with the Director of Rehabilitation
• No weekend or on-call requirements
• 40 hours per week

Requirements

• Active Texas SLP license required; license required if applicable
• Current ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) required
• Minimum 1 year of SLP experience required
• LTC or SNF setting experience required
• New graduates may be considered provided they have completed a Level II clinical experience (not Level I observation only)
• 3 years of experience holding an active CCC preferred
• 1 reference required for consideration
• License and certifications must be active at time of consideration

Additional Information

• Screens, evaluates, and rehabilitates patients with communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders in accordance with regulatory and clinical practice standards
• Utilizes standardized assessments and evidence-based practice to guide clinical interventions
• Monitors and documents patient progress, adjusts treatment plans, and evaluates outcomes in the electronic documentation system (Restore)
• Provides consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers
• Participates in patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, and rehabilitation meetings
• May supervise and support CFY or student Speech-Language Pathologists
• Adheres to ASHA standards, state practice acts, and professional ethics
• Maximum of 7 days of RTO may be requested for the contract period
