Description

American Traveler is hiring a Radiology Technologist (X-Ray) for an acute care hospital setting, requiring ARRT certification and the ability to perform general X-ray, fluoroscopy, and OR cases.

Details

• Acute care hospital radiology department with 4 rooms: 3 general X-ray, 1 fluoroscopy, plus 2 portables and 3 C-arms
• Staffing levels include 6-7 techs on days (6:00 AM–5:00 PM), 3-4 techs on evenings, and 1 tech on midnights
• Studies include general X-ray, OR cases (cystos, ortho, GI), and fluoroscopy cases (ortho and GI)
• Average of approximately 110 studies per day
• EMR: Cerner (Community Works); PACS: Intellirad/Intelliconnect
• Equipment includes OEC C-arms, GE AMX portables with DR-Konica, and diagnostic room equipment from Del Medical, Siemens, and Philips
• Four 10-hour shifts per week on steady afternoon and midnight rotation
• Shift times include Afternoon: 2:30–11:00 PM and Midnight: 12:00–8:00 AM
• Every other weekend on midnight shift
• May be asked to participate in holiday rotation
• Float coverage required between general X-ray department, fluoroscopy, and OR
• Candidate must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Radiology Technologist
• ARRT certification required
• Current BLS certification required
• WV X-ray License required (license required if applicable)
• WV CARES registration required prior to start
• Proficiency in general X-ray, portables, OR, and fluoroscopy required
• Driver's license copy required for consideration

Additional Information

• Perform general X-ray studies, portable imaging, OR cases, and fluoroscopy procedures
• Radiologist is in-house until 5:00 PM, then on call; Vrad covers remote interpretation from 2:00–6:00 AM
• Traveler may be the sole tech on duty overnight
• Orientation consists of 5 shifts with a preceptor
• Department is overseen by an Imaging Director and Manager (M–F days), with a lead tech present on most afternoon shifts
• Travelers who have previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have taken a 2-year break before reapplying; cumulative time at WVU facilities is capped at one year before a 2-year break is required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Any color of clean, professional scrubs is acceptable; permanent staff wear Emerald Green (optional for travelers to match)
• 2 references required for consideration: 1 supervisor reference and 1 peer or additional supervisor reference; if the candidate worked a permanent position in the last 12 months, one supervisor reference must be from that facility
