Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry & Stepdown position in Muscatine, IA, requiring at least 2 years of experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Works in the Acute Care Unit of a Level 4 trauma center hospital
• Patient population includes acute and stepdown patients requiring telemetry monitoring, including those on critical drips and BiPAP
• Patient ratios range from 1:2-3 to 1:6 depending on patient acuity
• Epic EMR is used; experience is required
• Day shift, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, 12-hour shifts
• 36 hours per week scheduled
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating to the ER is required; candidates must be comfortable doing so

Requirements

• Active IA RN license required; compact license also accepted
• Active IL RN license required at time of consideration
• Current certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg and Stepdown RN experience required
• Experience with critical care drips/gtts and BiPAP required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Supervisory reference from within the past 2 years required
• Driver's License required
• Candidate's taxable address must be outside of 50 miles from the facility

Additional Information

• Contributes clinical knowledge and skills in the provision and management of patient care as part of an interdisciplinary team
• Must be comfortable managing acute patients on critical drips and BiPAP
• May be asked to float within the same discipline across local campuses

• Travelers are expected to work 2 of the 3 winter holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's
