Description
American Traveler is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a 13-week travel contract in Round Rock, TX, performing nuclear medicine, PET/CT, and theranostic procedures in an acute care hospital setting.
Details
- Hospital-based Nuclear Medicine department serving ambulatory and inpatient populations including newborn, pediatric, young adult, adult, and geriatric patients
- Procedures include planar, SPECT, SPECT/CT, PET/CT, and theranostic procedures
- 5x8-hour day shifts, Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM
- On-call required
- Charting performed in EMR; images transferred to a PACS system
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience
- ARRT (N) or CNMT required
- BLS certification required (AHA only)
- Active TX Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) license required if applicable
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- 2 professional references required for consideration
- DOB and SSN required for consideration
- Flu shot required — no exemptions accepted
Additional Information
- Performs nuclear medicine, PET/CT, and theranostic procedures per physician order and established protocol under general Radiologist supervision
- Conducts equipment quality control per manufacturer standards, RAM license, and ACR requirements; collaborates with engineers and physicists to maintain optimal equipment performance
- Administers radiopharmaceuticals and adjunctive medications per protocol while adhering to all radiation safety policies, including pre-exam pregnancy screening and post-exam patient education
- Communicates patient condition changes to nursing partners, physicians, and emergency response teams as needed, with ability to administer first aid
- May serve as a trainer for new team members and students
- Maroon scrubs required
