Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab Tech for a 13–26 week contract at a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital, requiring at least 1 year of experience in diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab settings.

Details

  • Acute care hospital setting, Level I Trauma Center and Magnet-designated facility with 562 staffed beds
  • Cardiac Cath Lab unit focused on diagnostic and interventional procedures for middle and older adult patients
  • 4x12-hour day shifts, 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM; 3x12 schedule may also be available
  • Candidates will work 2–3 weekends per contract
  • On-call is required on a rotating basis with staff and agency; a dedicated call team is in place and call frequency is flexible based on census
  • No IR procedures required
  • No floating within the unit or to other departments
  • Charting is done in Cerner
  • Contract length is 13 or 26 weeks (candidate's choice)

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a cardiac cath lab required
  • Active ARRT and/or RCIS certification required
  • Active BLS and ACLS certifications required; AHA and Red Cross cards accepted — RQI AHA cards are not accepted
  • Active professional license required at time of consideration; license required if applicable
  • Experience in both diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab settings required
  • Proficiency in cardiac stent placement, diagnostic and left/right heart catheterizations, PCI, PTCA, IABP placement/removal, rotablator atherectomy, cardiac implant closure devices, and scrub procedures
  • Ability to recognize and respond to life-threatening arrhythmias and interpret dysrhythmias
  • Knowledge of sterile technique and isolation precautions required
  • Cerner EMR experience required
  • SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays during the contract
  • RTO of up to 5 days is generally accommodated; requests exceeding 5 days require facility approval
  • All time-off requests should be disclosed upfront
  • Any permanent or PRN employee of the facility's hospital system must have been separated for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler
  • Travel pairs are not accepted at this facility
  • Scrubs are provided
  • Free parking is available on-site with a permit obtained during orientation
  • Local candidates are accepted with no radius restriction
  • 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years are required
