Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Cardiac Cath Lab position requiring an active SC or compact RN license, AHA BLS and ACLS certifications, and cath lab nursing experience.

Details

• Work setting is a hospital Cardiac Cath Lab department
• Schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM, 10-hour shifts, 4 days per week
• Call requirements are part of the position and will be discussed with the manager during the interview
• May be asked to float to cover Cath/EP procedures
• Occasional float to TEE/Cardiovascular coverage is possible; if required, responsibilities would be limited to intra-procedure duties including timeout documentation, procedure tracking, and room circulation
• Scrubbing ability is a bonus but not required
• Charting system is Cerner

Requirements

• Active RN license in SC or a current compact/multi-state RN license; compact license holders must not be permanent residents of SC
• Current AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers certification required
• ACLS certification required; must be through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Graduate of an accredited school or college of nursing required
• BSN is highly desired
• English language proficiency (speaking, reading, and writing) required
• Ability to apply critical thinking and respond calmly in emergency situations
• 2 professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include performing patient assessments, planning and prioritizing care, and evaluating patient progress toward expected outcomes
• Collaborates with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to plan, deliver, and evaluate patient care
• Serves as a patient advocate and provides care that respects patient diversity and rights
• Travelers must live more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
• Travelers may float to a nearby sister hospital
• Travelers may remain on assignment for up to one calendar year from their initial start date; a 30–60 day break is required before returning to a new assignment at this facility
