Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced EP Lab RN for a Cardiac Cath Lab position requiring Electrophysiology experience and an active SC or compact RN license.

Details

  • Located in a hospital-based Cardiac Cath Lab/EP Lab setting
  • Primary focus is Electrophysiology (EP) procedures, with floating required to cover the Cath Lab as needed
  • May occasionally be asked to cover TEE/CV procedures in an intra-procedure capacity, primarily for documenting timeout, procedure tracking, and circulating the room
  • Schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM, 10-hour shifts, 4 days per week
  • 40 hours per week
  • Uses Cerner for charting
  • EP monitoring/stimulation systems, Intracardiac Echo (ICE), 3D mapping systems, and X-ray equipment are used in this role

Requirements

  • Active RN license in South Carolina or a current compact/multi-state RN license; candidate must not be a permanent resident of SC
  • Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience required; experience in high-acuity critical care, ED, or Cath Lab preferred
  • Electrophysiology experience required, including procedures such as ablations and LAAOs
  • Cath Lab experience required in addition to EP experience
  • Scrub experience is a plus
  • Associate's degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
  • RCIS or RCES credential preferred
  • Proficiency with EP monitoring/stimulation systems, ICE, 3D mapping systems, and X-ray equipment
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Additional Information

  • Responsible for assisting with all EP Lab procedures including permanent pacemaker, ICD, and Bi-V-ICD implantations
  • Must demonstrate competency in sterile technique and assist physicians throughout invasive EP procedures
  • Administers medications, defibrillation, or other treatments as ordered and within scope of practice
  • Monitors patient, staff, and physician radiation exposure, maintaining levels as low as reasonably achievable
  • Accurately enters patient demographics into physiological monitoring and X-ray equipment, and records patient data and billing information during procedures
  • Assists with room stocking and inventory maintenance as needed
  • Travelers may float to a nearby sister hospital
  • Travelers may remain on assignment for up to one calendar year from the initial start date; a 30–60 day break is required before returning to a new assignment
