Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a CVICU position requiring a minimum of 2 years of RN experience, Epic proficiency, and CVVHD/CRRT competency for a 13-week night shift contract.

Details

• CVICU setting within a hospital environment
• Patient population includes MI, CHF, cardiac surgery, post cardiac cath, LVAD, Impella, IABP, Arctic Sun, renal failure (CRRT), respiratory failure, sepsis, open heart surgery, AAA repair, vascular surgery, and ECMO
• Procedures and skills include post cardiac surgery care (directly and not directly from OR), pre/post cardiac cath intervention, pulmonary artery/Swan-Ganz monitoring, CVVHD/CRRT, arterial line management, central line and PICC line management, blood product administration, continuous IV sedation, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube insertion/removal assistance, HFNC, ABG interpretation, and ETT/NT suctioning
• Preferred skills include ECMO, intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP), sheath removal, TAVI/TAVR, IV insulin protocols, and chronic/acute renal failure management
• Epic EMR experience is required
• Schedule: nights, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Every other weekend required, covering both Saturday and Sunday (6 weekends over the 13-week contract)
• Individualized scheduling options available (e.g., blocked scheduling)
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• Floating between all health system campuses is required for all travelers

Requirements

• Active NC or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• CVVHD/CRRT experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management experience required
• Multi-system organ failure management experience required
• SICU experience preferred
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration
