Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position in New York, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ED experience and active NY licensure.

Details

• Work in a combined Adult/Pediatric Emergency Department
• Patient ratio is 1:3 on all shifts
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
• Documents Epic for charting and Pyxis for medication management
• Communication standard is SBAR

Requirements

• Active NY RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• Minimum of 2 years of ED experience required
• Proficient in triage, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, blood product administration, phlebotomy, IV insertion and maintenance, and IV vasopressors
• Experience with procedural sedation, CVA and head injury management, care of ventilated patients, BiPAP/CPAP management, and isolation precautions/PPE
• TNCC certification preferred
• 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration

• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Local candidates are not eligible; must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Orientation is 48 hours
• No scrub color restrictions
• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off (RTO) allowed; all requests must be submitted upfront
