Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level III NICU position requiring a minimum of 3 years of experience, Epic proficiency, and delivery attendance experience.

• Night shift position working 3x12-hour shifts (18:45–07:15)
• Every other weekend requirement
• At least 1 major and 1 minor holiday required
• Self-scheduling unit
• Patient ratio of 1:2–3 in the NICU
• Floating required to the Normal Newborn Nursery and NOU (Normal Newborn Observation Unit) with ratios of 1:4–6
• Epic EMR experience required
• Performs and assists with a wide range of neonatal procedures including chest tube insertion, PICC/UAC/UVC placement, intubation, nitric oxide administration, exchange transfusions, CBGs/ABGs, echocardiograms, EEGs, and x-rays

Requirements

• Active LA RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS and NRP
• Minimum 3 years of NICU nursing experience required
• Level III NICU experience required
• Delivery attendance experience (vaginal and C-section) required
• Proficiency with Epic EMR required
• Skills required include: neonatal IV placement, lab draws, ventilator and central line management, medication administration via multiple routes (IV, IM, SQ, ETT, OGT, NGT, oral, rectal, topical, ophthalmic), and blood administration
• Supervisor reference dated within the last 12 months required for consideration
• Copy of Driver's License required for consideration
• Any employment gaps of more than 30 days must be listed and explained

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include attending deliveries, admitting and discharging NICU and NOU newborns, coordinating care with an interdisciplinary team (NNP, MD, RN, Social Services, RT, Radiology, OT), and parent education including breastfeeding support
• Grape/purple scrubs required
• No first-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates
• Former permanent employees of any LCMC facility must have been separated for at least 1 year to be eligible
• RTO is limited to 5 days or fewer for the duration of the contract
