Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level III Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center in New York, requiring at least 2 years of ED experience and night shift availability.

Details

• Combined adult and pediatric Emergency Department setting at a Level III Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Night shift schedule (7p–7a), 36 or 48 hours per week
• 4x12-hour night shifts
• Every other weekend requirement (2 weekends per 4-week schedule)
• EMR system: Epic; medication dispensing via Pyxis; communication using SBAR

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
• Experience in a Level III Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center required
• Clinical skills required include: dysrhythmia interpretation and management, blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, IV insertion, continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and ventilated patient management
• Experience with a broad range of ED presentations including CVA, TBI, spinal cord injury, neuro-trauma, ortho-trauma, burns, seizures, mental/behavioral health conditions, and gunshot wounds
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

• Unit orientation is 24 hours
