Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery position in Corpus Christi, TX, requiring at least 1 year of L&D experience and the ability to circulate C-sections and manage high-risk antepartum patients.

Details

• Labor & Delivery/Antepartum unit located on the 2nd floor of the Women's Building
• Unit consists of 19 labor beds, 5 OBED beds, 3 PACU beds, 3 surgical beds, and 8 antepartum beds
• Patient ratios: 2:1 for labor, 3:1 for OBED, 4:1 for antepartum, and 1:1 in the OR
• Night shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 2 OBED nurses, 2–3 antepartum nurses, and 10 labor nurses
• EMR systems used: CPN and Meditech
• Procedures performed on the unit include C-sections, cerclage, BTL, and D&C (for PPH only)
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 13-week contract
• Up to 4 weekend shifts per month, with a minimum of 2 mandatory weekend shifts per month
• No on-call requirements
• Floating to the low-risk antepartum unit is required

Requirements

• Active TX RN license or compact RN license required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP (Advanced 9th Edition, American Academy of Pediatrics card), and Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AWHONN or NCCEFM)
• Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the start date
• Minimum 1 year of recent L&D experience required
• Must have experience in OBED, circulating C-sections, managing high-risk antepartum patients, and labor
• Experience managing COVID patients in labor, C-section, antepartum, and OBED settings required
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration — no Canadian SSNs accepted
• One professional reference required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Advanced fetal monitoring experience is preferred and will be prioritized during candidate review
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates will not be considered
• Royal blue scrubs required; t-shirts are not permitted
• Strong teamwork skills and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment are important for success in this role
