Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a travel ICU position in Smyrna, TN, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience and active TN or compact RN license.

Details

• Hospital ICU setting with 16 beds
• Patient ratio of 2:1
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 13-week contract
• Unit tech support available
• Equipment includes GE monitors, Nova glucometers, Pyxis medication dispensing, and Dräger ventilators
• Documentation via Meditech EMR
• Every other weekend required
• Floating in rotation with full-time staff and other travelers
• Procedures performed on unit include trach placement, bronchoscopy, and cardioversion

Requirements

• Active RN license — TN state or compact license required
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of assignment start)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience
• Ventilator and sedation management experience required
• Medication titration experience required
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Advanced skills utilized include ventilator/sedation management and medication titration
• Patient experience standards include AIDET communication, completion of communication boards, and medication teaching
• Facility is a Trauma Level III hospital
• Charcoal gray scrubs required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
• First-time travelers are not mentioned as eligible; 2 years of ICU experience is required
