Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position in Smyrna, TN, requiring post-cath care experience including TR band management on a 13-week night shift contract.

Details

• Hospital PCU setting with a 12-bed unit
• Patient ratio of 4:1
• Unit support includes one tech for the unit
• Patient population includes post-cath care and advanced pulmonary cases requiring medication titration and TR band management
• Equipment used includes GE monitors, Nova glucometers, and Pyxis medication dispensing
• Documentation system: Meditech
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Floating is required in rotation with full-time staff and other travelers

Requirements

• Active RN license — TN or Compact license required
• Current certifications required: BLS and ACLS (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required for PCU RNs
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU experience required
• Experience with post-cath care including TR band management required
• Experience with advanced pulmonary treatments and medication titration required
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required (two required if licensed in Florida or Missouri)

• Patient experience standards include AIDET communication, completion of communication boards, and medication teaching
• Charcoal gray scrubs required
• This is a Trauma Level III facility
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
