Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a high-risk, high-volume Labor & Delivery position requiring a minimum of 3 years of high-risk L&D experience and the ability to circulate and provide newborn care.
Details
- High-risk, high-volume Labor & Delivery unit in a hospital setting
- Unit averages 15 patients per day with 500–600 deliveries per month across 31 rooms/beds
- Patient population includes midwifery clients, private OB patients, Adult Recovery Services clients supporting substance recovery, and community care clinic patients
- 4 ORs on unit supporting all types of L&D cases
- Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines
- Epic EMR required — experience is a hard stop requirement
- Electronic fetal monitoring (EFM) experience required
- Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
- Schedule posted every 6 weeks to meet unit needs
- Every other weekend required; holidays covered as needed
- Float required to Postpartum and Antepartum, including potential float to sister facilities that provide Mother/Baby care
Requirements
- Active WA RN license or a compact RN license currently in hand
- Current certifications required: BLS and NRP
- Preferred certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring, and AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring
- Minimum 3–5 years of L&D experience in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment required; 5 years of high-risk experience strongly preferred
- High-risk L&D experience is required — no exceptions
- Must be able to circulate in the OR
- Must be able to function as Baby Nurse during delivery, including newborn care: eyes, Vitamin K injections (thighs), and newborn assessments
- Epic EMR experience required
- Electronic fetal monitoring experience required
- Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty and setting required for consideration
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Proof of required certifications required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Former permanent staff of any Providence Swedish facility must have been separated for at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
- Former permanent staff of other Providence (non-Swedish) facilities are eligible for a travel contract after a separation of at least 3 months
- Travelers are expected to float between all facilities within Washington State; refusal to float may result in assignment termination
- RTO is considered on a case-by-case basis; minimal RTO is strongly preferred
- Heparin, insulin, and magnesium sulfate administration are part of the clinical scope on this unit
- Must pass clinical review — proof of current Nursys record required for consideration
