Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a high-risk, high-volume Labor & Delivery position requiring a minimum of 3 years of high-acuity L&D experience, Epic proficiency, and the ability to circulate and provide newborn care.

Details

• High-risk, high-volume Labor & Delivery unit with 31 beds and an average daily census of 15 patients, supporting 500–600 deliveries per month
• Patient population includes midwifery clients, private OB patients, Adult Recovery Services clients supporting substance recovery, and community care clinic patients
• Unit is equipped with 4 ORs and utilizes electronic fetal monitoring
• Medications frequently used include Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
• Epic EMR is required — no exceptions
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Schedule is posted every 6 weeks to meet unit needs; every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• Floating required to Postpartum and Antepartum units, as well as to sister facilities offering Mother/Baby care within the state

Requirements

• Active WA RN license or valid compact RN license currently in hand
• Required certifications: BLS and NRP
• Preferred certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, and AWHONN Intermediate
• Minimum of 3–5 years of L&D experience in a high-acuity, high-volume setting required; 5 years of high-risk L&D experience strongly preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with electronic fetal monitoring required
• Must be able to circulate in the OR
• Must be able to function as baby nurse during delivery, including newborn care (eyes, Vitamin K injections, and newborn assessments)
• Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty or setting required for consideration
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Former permanent staff of this Swedish facility must have been separated for at least 3 months before being eligible; candidates must also reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Former permanent staff of other Providence facilities (non-Swedish) are eligible after a separation of at least 3 months
• Minimal RTO is expected for this position; limited days may be approved on a case-by-case basis
• All time-off requests must be disclosed prior to submission, as post-offer RTO requests may be denied
