Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel Occupational Therapist with at least 2 years of experience for a 13-week acute care hospital assignment in Camarillo, CA, covering both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting with PT, OT, and Speech therapy unit
• Position may be hired specific to inpatient or outpatient need — inpatient coverage includes general inpatient, rehab, and sub-acute; outpatient coverage includes ortho, sports medicine, neuro, peds, and a lymphedema program across two off-site clinic locations
• Inpatient patient population includes spinal cord injuries, stroke, brain injuries, ortho, general medical, surgical, bariatrics, ICU, cardiac, and ventilated/long-term sub-acute patients
• Day shift, 8-hour shifts (8:30am–5:00pm), Tuesday through Saturday
• Weekend requirement: candidates must be available to work either every Saturday or every Sunday
• Holiday coverage is required and rotated with permanent staff, typically one major and one minor holiday
• EMR: Cerner

Requirements

• Active OT license required if applicable — pending licenses will not be accepted
• Minimum 2 years of OT experience required
• Current BLS certification required — pending certifications will not be accepted
• Swallow study experience preferred (rare specialty for OTs)
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• A copy of your driver's license is required for consideration
• 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both must include dates of employment and eligibility for rehire

Additional Information

• Depending on assignment type, therapists may work general inpatient, rehab, OR sub-acute floors, or at one of two outpatient clinic locations
• Floor-specific orientation consists of 3 shifts
• Uniform requirement: facility-provided polo shirt with khaki or black pants
• Rehab aides, OTAs, and PTAs are not utilized on this unit
• 24/7 pharmacy available on-site
• Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity-affiliated facility within the past year are not eligible — candidates placed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
