Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN Supervisor for a SSSU/PACU role requiring a minimum of 5 years of surgical and GI clinical experience along with strong pre/post-op and supervisory skills.

Details

• Hospital perioperative setting covering SSSU/PACU and GI units
• Supervisory role overseeing SSSU/PACU and GI departments under the direction of the Peri-Operative Director
• Patient population includes pre-op, post-op, PACU, and GI patients
• Schedule is four 10-hour shifts per week
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications required: BLS/BCLS, ACLS, and PALS
• Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in Surgery and GI required
• 2–5 years of progressive leadership experience preferred
• Strong PACU and pre/post-op clinical skills required
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Computer proficiency required
• DOB and SSN may be required for consideration

Additional Information

• Assists with hiring, disciplinary actions, and performance evaluations for SSSU/PACU and GI staff
• Supports leadership on both clinical and non-clinical issues and collaborates with supervisors on issue resolution and performance improvement projects
• Organizes and facilitates staff meetings to promote education, communication, and optimal patient outcomes
• Collaborates with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to provide physical and psychological support to patients and families
• Applies nursing assessment skills including recognition of post-anesthesia and post-operative complications
• Nursing care is rendered in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act and applicable hospital, nursing department, and regulatory standards
