Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an ICU position in Dickson, TN, requiring at least 2 years of ICU experience and active ACLS, PALS, and BLS certifications.

Details

• 6-bed ICU located in the main building of a hospital in Dickson, TN
• Patient ratios are primarily 2:1, with some 1:1 and 3:1 assignments
• Unit is supported by 1 Nurse Tech
• Procedures performed include central line placements, arterial line placements, paracentesis, thoracentesis, and intubation
• Specialized equipment includes Arctic Sun and Continuous EEG monitoring; newest GE ICU monitors are in use
• Documentation system: Meditech
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• Float requirement to the ICU overflow unit

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA or ARC accepted; none may expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required for ICU RNs
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills required
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Galaxy Blue or Pewter scrubs are required
• Unit-specific policies and guidelines will be provided during onboarding with the facility educator
• This facility is ranked among the highest in the HCA system for quality and staff engagement
• The ICU is actively expanding its service lines and acuity, with a newly approved expansion that will double the unit's capacity
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
• 13-week contract
