Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with a minimum of 2 years of acute care experience for a 13-week inpatient assignment requiring strong ortho, total joints, and ICU experience.

Details

• Acute care inpatient setting covering med/surg, tele, ICU, and all areas of the hospital
• Patient population includes orthopedic/total joint, cardiac surgery, oncology, ICU (including ventilated patients), and a broad range of diagnoses
• Rehab tech support available on the unit
• 8-hour shifts with varied start times (8:30am–5pm, 9am–5:30pm, 9:30am–6pm, or 10:30am–7pm); schedule made approximately one month in advance
• Tuesday–Saturday schedule; a weekday off is provided when a weekend shift is worked
• All staff are required to work holidays
• No floating required for this inpatient role
• Charting via Cerner EMR

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care PT experience required
• Experience with orthopedic and total joint patients required
• ICU experience, including treatment of ventilated patients, required
• Experience with med/surg and oncology populations required
• Active PT state license required (pending licenses not accepted); license required if applicable
• Current BLS certification required (pending certifications not accepted)
• COVID vaccination required
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Position is inpatient only; outpatient coverage is not part of this assignment
• Must be able to treat ventilated patients in the ICU
• Candidates should be prepared to hit the ground running with minimal orientation (typically one day or less)
• Burgundy polo with dark-colored pants required; lab coats are optional
• Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by a CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facility within the past year are not eligible; candidates placed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
