Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cath Lab/EP position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience, IR experience, and the ability to provide STEMI call coverage.

Details

• Work is performed in a Cath Lab/IR department within a hospital setting
• Department covers interventional radiology, invasive cardiology, peripheral vascular, and EP device implant procedures
• Case mix is approximately 85% IR and 15% cardiology
• Patient ratio is 1:3-4
• Day shift schedule: 5x8-hour shifts, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday
• All staff rotate weekly to provide procedure coverage across all services
• 24/7 call coverage is required for STEMI, emergent/urgent IR, and cardiology procedures
• Weekday call hours: 4:00 PM to 7:30 AM the following morning; weekend call runs Friday 4:00 PM through Monday 7:30 AM
• Call schedule consists of twice-a-week call for two weeks per month, one call weekend (Friday night–Monday morning) per month, and one call-free week following the call weekend; occasional additional call may be required and is distributed evenly among staff
• STEMI callback time is 30 minutes; IR callback time varies based on procedure type
• Call team consists of three staff members, one of whom must be an RN
• No float requirement
• Special equipment includes MAC Lab, IVUS, Toshiba Angio Lab, Angio Jet, Penumbra Thrombectomy System, CSI Atherectomy System, Bovi System, Plasma Blade Cutter, Radiofrequency Ablation Unit, Venous Closure Unit, Sonosite, and S2000 Ultrasound Unit
• EMR system: Epic

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Cath Lab and IR experience required
• Must be proficient in scrubbing, circulating, and telemetry monitoring
• Must have prior STEMI call experience
• Preferred skills include IV starts, triage, PA lines, and conscious sedation

Additional Information

• Orientation is 16 hours
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• An interview with the manager is required prior to offer; candidates should be prepared to interview within 72 hours of submission
• Local candidates are accepted

• RTO after booking is not permitted and cannot be arranged onsite; call-offs or additional RTO may result in contract cancellation and a Do Not Return (DNR) status
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years will be required for consideration
