Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Cardiac Telemetry (CPPU) position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience, IV start skills, and night shift availability.

Details

• Work in a 24-bed inpatient Cardiac Procedural and Procedural Unit (CPPU) housing cardiac telemetry along with pre and post cardiac procedural patients
• Patient population includes Pre/Post Cath, Pre/Post PPM & AICD, Watchman Procedures, Stress Tests, TIA, Carotid Stent, NSTEMI, and management of arterial and venous sheaths
• Manages cardiac drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Renal Dose Dopamine, Lasix Drips, and non-titrating Nitro Drips for stable chest pain
• Patient ratio is 1:5-6
• Average length of stay is 1.8–2.4 days with rapid daily patient turnover
• An ADT (Admission, Discharge, Transfer) nurse is available Monday–Friday during peak transition times
• Night shift, 7p–7a (3x12-hour shifts)
• 36 or 48 hours per week available
• 4 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule
• Floating to similar units is required as needed
• 13-week contract with the possibility of extension

Requirements

• Active RN license in NC or a compact state license currently in hand
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• IV start and telemetry skills required

Additional Information

• Must pass an EKG test prior to start
• RTO (time off) requests after booking are not permitted and cannot be arranged onsite — any call-offs or additional RTO may result in contract cancellation
• Absences must be made up at the end of the contract and cannot be made up as overtime
• If a weekend shift is called off, an additional weekend shift must be made up at the manager's discretion
• Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed
