- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5 with nurse aide support at a 1:10–15 ratio
- Telemetry is monitored remotely by monitor techs on the 3rd floor; RNs are required to interpret and sign strips at least once per shift
- Diltiazem administered at a set rate; drip titration is not required
- Equipment includes BiPAP, CPAP, high-flow oxygen, and nebulizer breathing treatments

- Every other weekend (EOW) requirement

Requirements
- Active AZ or Compact (NLC) RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses are not accepted
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; pending certifications are not accepted

- Experience reading and interpreting basic telemetry strips required
- Experience with general and orthopedic surgical patients, CVA, and TIA required

- Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility (permanent address as shown on driver's license)
Additional Information
- RNs perform telemetry strip interpretation and sign off on readings at least once per shift
- Charge nurses do not take a patient assignment; house supervisor support is also available
- Unit orientation consists of 1 shift on the unit (approximately 12 hours); Cerner experience is strongly recommended given the limited orientation time
- Holiday coverage is expected for Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day — travelers are expected to work a combination of 2 days and 1 evening or 2 evenings and 1 day across those holidays
- Navy blue scrubs are required
- RNs must pass the Relias Dysrhythmia exam (basic or advanced) before an offer can be confirmed
- A pass/fail skills test on sterile technique for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes is administered on the first day of orientation
- Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year are not eligible; candidates employed PRN through outside firms will be considered

2 nurses recommend working with Yavapai Regional Medical Center-West Campus
Pros
Traveler friendly, good ratios, great scheduling, decent providers, Uses tiger text to communicate with most doctors. Plenty of hiking activities. Close to Sedona, Flagstaff and Phoenix. 5:1 Med/tele and 3:1 PCU.
Cons
Cost of living is High, roughly $2000-2500 for your own private space. Float between East and West Campus, 25 minutes apart, west will likely be where you spend 75% of your shifts so pick your housing accordingly.
