Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg (Acute Care) night shift position in Albany, GA, requiring a GA or Compact RN license and a minimum of 2 years of med/surg experience.

Details

• Acute care med/surg unit in a hospital setting
• 44-bed unit with a staff of 40 nurses
• Patient ratio of 1:5, with potential for 1:6 on both days and nights
• CNA support available, generally at a 1:10 ratio
• Telemetry is present but monitored on a separate unit
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required on an as-needed basis
• Floating required to other acute care units, cardiology (for medical patients), and the EC for acute care patient holds
• EMR: MEDITECH (experience preferred but not required)
• 17-week contract

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of med/surg experience required
• Required certifications: BLS and NIHSS (both must be AHA-issued)
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility (based on address on driver's license)

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a 44-bed acute med/surg unit
• Scrub color: Caribbean Blue
• Orientation: 1 week general (including EMR training) plus 2 days of floor-specific orientation
• Candidates who have been employed by this facility within the last 12 months are not eligible for placement
• Any time-off or scheduling requests must be submitted prior to the start of the assignment
