Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg (Acute Care) night shift position in Albany, GA, requiring a GA or Compact RN license and a minimum of 2 years of med/surg experience.
Details
- Acute care med/surg unit in a hospital setting
- 44-bed unit with a staff of 40 nurses
- Patient ratio of 1:5, with potential for 1:6 on both days and nights
- CNA support available, generally at a 1:10 ratio
- Telemetry is present but monitored on a separate unit
- Night shift, 12-hour shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday coverage required on an as-needed basis
- Floating required to other acute care units, cardiology (for medical patients), and the EC for acute care patient holds
- EMR: MEDITECH (experience preferred but not required)
- 17-week contract
Requirements
- Active GA or Compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of med/surg experience required
- Required certifications: BLS and NIHSS (both must be AHA-issued)
- Driver's license required for consideration
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility (based on address on driver's license)
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care on a 44-bed acute med/surg unit
- Scrub color: Caribbean Blue
- Orientation: 1 week general (including EMR training) plus 2 days of floor-specific orientation
- Candidates who have been employed by this facility within the last 12 months are not eligible for placement
- Any time-off or scheduling requests must be submitted prior to the start of the assignment
- Albany, GA is a city of approximately 80,000 located 175 miles south of Atlanta and within driving distance of Tallahassee, FL and the Florida Gulf Coast
