Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab Technologist with at least 1 year of experience for a 13-week acute care assignment in a cardiac cath lab setting using Epic and Siemens equipment.

Details

• Acute care hospital cardiac cath lab with 2 suites/labs
• Average of 10-15 cases per day, including diagnostic left and right heart caths, PCI, IABP, and temporary pacemaker placements
• Rad Techs scrub and assist physicians; RNs circulate, sedate, and complete documentation
• EMR: Epic; Siemens imaging software and equipment used in the department
• Four 10-hour day shifts per week with start and stop times subject to case volume and scheduling
• On-call requirement of 24/7 coverage; one week of on-call per four-week schedule (Monday 7 AM to the following Monday 7 AM), which may be 7 consecutive days or distributed throughout the schedule
• Weekend call from Friday after hours to Monday 7 AM when not assigned the Monday-to-Monday call rotation
• Holiday call coverage on a rotational basis
• Call response time of 30 minutes required
• 1-2 late shifts per schedule in rotation

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of prior cath lab or radiology tech experience required
• ARRT and BLS certifications required
• Proficiency in sterile technique and scrubbing required for Rad Tech role
• Experience with Siemens imaging software and equipment preferred
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Driver's license required for consideration
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will be considered with demonstrated strong experience
• Rad Techs scrub and assist the physician; sterile technique knowledge is essential
• Department-specific orientation of approximately one week or up to 36 hours, plus general hospital and computer training
• Surgical attire is provided
• Travelers who have previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have a 2-year break before being eligible to return
• Travelers may not work within the WVU system for longer than a cumulative total of 1 year; after reaching that mark, a 2-year break is required before returning
• Two supervisor and peer references required for consideration, including a supervisor reference from any permanent facility worked within the last 12 months
