Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Labor Pool (Float Pool) position at an acute care hospital in Albany, GA, requiring at least 2 years of experience and a GA or compact RN license.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting with a 483-bed main campus and a 124-bed north campus
• Labor Pool (Float Pool) unit — Med/Surg floats to Ortho/Neuro, Oncology, Acute Care, and JFW units
• 12-hour night shifts, Saturday and Sunday only
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6; CNAs available with a general ratio of 1:8–1:10
• Telemetry monitoring available across multiple units
• Respiratory equipment in use includes BiPAP, CPAP, Vapotherm, and Draeger vents (used on specific units)
• PICC line capability available; no dedicated IV team
• RT and Pharmacy support available 24/7
• Charge nurse present on all units
• EMR: MEDITECH
• Every other weekend requirement
• On-call/low census call requirement
• Floating required; must be flexible with changing assignments during the shift
• Floor-specific orientation provided (16 orientation hours)

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required
• Required certifications: BLS and NIHSS; ACLS also listed for broader float pool coverage
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience with at least 1 prior travel assignment, OR 4 years of RN experience without travel experience
• Med/Surg unit experience required
• MEDITECH EMR experience preferred
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for placement
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Must not have been employed by this facility within the last 12 months

• Candidate must be flexible and willing to accept changing unit assignments within the same shift
• Holidays rotate with permanent staff
• Scrub color required: Caribbean Blue
• OB/Neonatologist is on-site
