Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Labor Pool (Float Pool) position at an acute care hospital in Albany, GA, requiring at least 2 years of experience and a GA or compact RN license.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting with a 483-bed main campus and a 124-bed north campus
- Labor Pool (Float Pool) unit — Med/Surg floats to Ortho/Neuro, Oncology, Acute Care, and JFW units
- 12-hour night shifts, Saturday and Sunday only
- Typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6; CNAs available with a general ratio of 1:8–1:10
- Telemetry monitoring available across multiple units
- Respiratory equipment in use includes BiPAP, CPAP, Vapotherm, and Draeger vents (used on specific units)
- PICC line capability available; no dedicated IV team
- RT and Pharmacy support available 24/7
- Charge nurse present on all units
- EMR: MEDITECH
- Every other weekend requirement
- On-call/low census call requirement
- Floating required; must be flexible with changing assignments during the shift
- Floor-specific orientation provided (16 orientation hours)
Requirements
- Active GA or compact RN license required
- Required certifications: BLS and NIHSS; ACLS also listed for broader float pool coverage
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience with at least 1 prior travel assignment, OR 4 years of RN experience without travel experience
- Med/Surg unit experience required
- MEDITECH EMR experience preferred
- Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for placement
- Driver's license required for consideration
- Must not have been employed by this facility within the last 12 months
Additional Information
- Candidate must be flexible and willing to accept changing unit assignments within the same shift
- Holidays rotate with permanent staff
- Scrub color required: Caribbean Blue
- OB/Neonatologist is on-site
