Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery/Postpartum position at a Level 3 Trauma hospital, requiring at least 2 years of LDRP experience and a NC or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in a Labor & Delivery/Postpartum unit at a 457-bed Level 3 Trauma hospital
• Unit has 13 labor beds and 5 triage rooms, with an average daily census of 9–10 patients
• Patient population includes high-risk antepartum, active labor, and immediate postpartum cases
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:1–2 for laboring patients
• Performs labor management, cesarean section circulating, pre-op, PACU, triage, newborn resuscitation, Pitocin management, and epidural management
• EMR: Epic (experience required)
• Equipment includes Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, GE monitors, Monica Novii, and Neptune
• Telemetry monitoring available at bedside and at the nurses' station
• 12-hour night shifts, 7p–7a, 36 hours per week
• Weekend rotation: every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities for travelers
• Floating required within Region 1 (Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, and Central Division facilities) per regional needs — do not apply if not agreeable to this requirement

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM)
• Minimum 2 years of LDRP experience required, with most recent experience within the last year
• Epic EMR experience required
• 1 professional reference dated within the past year, from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
• Candidate's permanent address must be located more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not accepted

Additional Information

• Orientation includes facility NEO plus 2 days of departmental orientation
• Department support includes a charge nurse 24/7, OB physicians, anesthesia/CRNA team, hospitalist and intensivist 24/7, respiratory therapy 24/7, phlebotomy, and IV/VAT team
• Administrative secretary available Monday–Friday, 8a–5p
• Travelers are expected to work 75% of assigned holidays
• Up to 6 days of RTO may be approved, excluding holidays; contracted hours must still be met
• Hospital-provided green OR scrubs required
