Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry (Oncology) position requiring a minimum of 2 years of RN experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Acute care hospital Med/Surg Telemetry unit with an oncology focus
• Patient population includes oncology patients receiving chemotherapy, soft tissue malignancy cases, symptom management, and comorbidity management
• Heavy emphasis on infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4
• Special equipment includes GE B450 telemetry monitors, Bladder Scanner, Alaris pumps, and Stryker beds
• Epic EMR experience required
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
• Rotating day/night shift scheduling possible based on department needs, reviewed every 4-week scheduling period
• Floating required within units of equivalent or lower acuity

Requirements

• Active OH or Compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation required
• Required clinical skills: port access, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care/management, PICC line management, IV insertion, assistance with chest tube insertion/removal, high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), and ABG interpretation
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration

Additional Information

• Oncology experience preferred but not required
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Continuous cardiac monitoring related to chemotherapy administration is a core responsibility of this unit
• All time-off and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration
• No 30-day break between assignments is required when changing representation at this health system (exception: Sterile Processing Techs still require a 30-day break)
