Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel MRI Technologist for a 13-week evening shift assignment at an acute care Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated hospital in Springfield, IL, requiring a minimum of 2 years of MRI experience and proficiency across a broad range of imaging protocols.

Details

• Work in the MRI department of a 562-bed acute care, Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated hospital
• 3x12-hour evening shifts from 11:00 AM to 11:30 PM, Saturday through Monday
• On-call required as needed
• Weekend and holiday coverage required as part of the role
• Charting performed in Cerner
• No floating within the department; however, all travelers are expected to float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital as needed
• Free parking permit provided; form completed during orientation

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of MRI experience required
• ARRT-MR preferred
• BLS required; AHA and Red Cross accepted — RQI AHA cards are not accepted
• Cerner experience required
• Level I Trauma experience preferred
• Required MRI skills across multiple body regions including: Abdomen (Abdominal MRA, Abdominal MRV, MRCP), Female and Male Pelvis, Chest, Cardiovascular (MR Angio Lower Extremity with Bilateral Runoff), Head and Neck (Brain, Cranial Nerves, Face/Soft Tissue Neck, Head MRA, Head MRV, Neck MRV, Orbits), Musculoskeletal (Foot, Hand, Hip/Bony Pelvis, Knee, Lower and Upper Extremity Long Bones, Shoulder, Sternum, TMJ with/without contrast), and Spine (Cervical, Lumbar, Sacrum/Coccyx, Spinal Trauma, Thoracic, Thoracic MRA)
• Required special imaging procedure skills: CINE (CSF flow study), Diffusion (non-brain), Gradient Echo Imaging, MIP, Multiplanar Reconstruction, Perfusion, Peripheral MRA (Iliac, Runoff), Spin Echo Images, Surface Coils, T-1 and T-2 Weighted Images
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• License required if applicable — active professional license and certifications required
• Must be in Illinois 3 business days prior to compliance hard deadline in order to meet fingerprinting requirements

Additional Information

• Perform a wide range of MRI examinations spanning musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiovascular, abdominal, pelvic, chest, and spine imaging protocols
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are accepted with no radius restriction
• Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• RTO requests ideally should not exceed 5 days; requests beyond 5 days require facility approval
• Any permanent or PRN employee of the Memorial Hospital System must have been separated for at least 12 months before being eligible to apply as a traveler
• Travel pairs are not accepted
• Any solid color scrubs are acceptable
