Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry (Oncology) position requiring a minimum of 2 years of RN experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Inpatient Med/Surg Telemetry unit within a cancer hospital and research setting
• Patient population includes oncology patients receiving chemotherapy, soft tissue malignancy cases, and patients requiring symptom management and comorbidity management
• Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and fall prevention
• Continuous cardiac monitoring is a core component of patient care on this unit
• Patient ratio is 1:4
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
• Rotating day/night contract is available — shift assignments may include days, nights, or a combination based on departmental needs, reviewed every 4-week scheduling period
• Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity
• Charting is done in Epic (experience required)
• Special equipment includes GE B450 telemetry monitors, bladder scanner, Alaris pumps, and Stryker beds
• Contract length is 16 weeks

Requirements

• Active OH RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Oncology experience preferred but not required
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Required clinical skills include: dysrhythmia interpretation, port access, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care/management, PICC line management, IV insertion, assistance with chest tube insertion/removal, high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), and ABG interpretation
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration

Additional Information

• All time off and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial application
• No 30-day break between assignments is required when changing representation at this facility (except for Sterile Processing Techs)
