Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry (Oncology) position requiring a minimum of 2 years of RN experience and Epic proficiency, with previous travel experience preferred.

Details

• Inpatient Med/Surg Telemetry unit with an oncology focus
• Patient population includes those receiving chemotherapy, managing soft tissue malignancies, and symptom management related to disease treatment or progression; comorbidity management is also a key component of care
• Strong emphasis on infection prevention protocols and fall prevention
• Continuous cardiac monitoring is a core component of patient care
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Special equipment includes GE B450 telemetry monitors, bladder scanner, Alaris pumps, and Stryker beds
• Epic EMR experience required
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
• May also be scheduled for days or a combination of days and nights based on department needs, reviewed every 4-week scheduling period
• Floating required within units of equivalent or lower acuity

Requirements

• Active OH RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation required
• Required clinical skills include: port access, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care and management, PICC line management, IV insertion, assistance with chest tube insertion/removal, high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) management, and ABG interpretation
• Oncology experience preferred but not required
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred

Additional Information

• 16-week contract
• No mandatory break period required between assignments when changing representation at this facility (except for Sterile Processing Techs, who require a 30-day break)
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
• All time off and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration
