Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position on a General Surgery unit in Tuscaloosa, AL, requiring at least 2 years of experience and an active AL or compact RN license.

Details

• 32-bed General Surgery unit focused on postoperative care for general surgical patients
• Day shift schedule, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• 13-week contract
• 36 or 48 hours per week available
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
• Responsibilities include postoperative pain management, mobility support, and bedside procedures
• Collaborates with family practice physicians, hospitalists, and surgeons
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required as determined by the facility
• Floating to other units and hospital locations is required
• EMR: Meditech (experience preferred but not required)

Requirements

• Active AL state or compact RN license required — no temporary or pending licenses accepted
• No hits (past or current) on nursing license allowed
• AHA BLS or Red Cross BLS certification required
• Associate degree in nursing (ADN) or higher required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required; candidates with 18 months may be considered
• At least 1 year of recent experience in Med/Surg Telemetry specialty required
• NURSYS license verification required
• Current driver's license required for consideration
• Two professional references from within the last year required for consideration
• SSN required for consideration
