Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for an ER/ICC position at an oncology hospital, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ER experience, prior travel experience, and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Position is based in an Emergency Department and Immediate Care Center (ICC) within an oncology hospital setting
- The ICC is a smaller, less acute unit serving hematology, oncology, and sickle cell patients in both urgent and non-urgent presentations
- Common patient diagnoses include sickle cell crisis, fever, abdominal pain, uncontrolled pain, anemia, and nausea/vomiting/dehydration
- Most ICC patients are discharged home, though some are admitted to the hospital
- Travelers are required to float between the ICC and ED units as needed
- Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Epic EMR experience is required
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active OH RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
- Minimum 1 year of prior travel nursing experience required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
Additional Information
- Nurses in the ICC develop diverse clinical skills and build strong relationships with oncology patients in a supportive, collaborative team environment
- ICC appointments are coordinated based on referrals from the patient's primary team or oncologist; patients may arrive from within the hospital (e.g., radiation or infusion) or directly from home
- No required break between consecutive assignments at this facility (excluding Sterile Processing Techs)
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years are required for consideration
- All RTO/scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial application
