Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced NICU RN for a travel assignment at a pediatric hospital in Ohio, requiring at least 2 years of Level III/IV NICU experience and an OH or compact RN license.
Details
- Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:00)
- Level IV NICU unit within a large pediatric hospital setting
- Includes a specialized BPD (bronchopulmonary dysplasia) NICU area with an average patient length of stay of 2–3 years
- Floating is required and may include PICU, CV PICU, stepdown, med/surg, and on rare occasions the ED
- Floating to other campuses is also required, primarily to Riverside and St. Ann's campuses
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active OH or compact RN license currently in hand
- Current BLS and NRP certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of Level IV NICU experience required
- Minimum 2 years of combined Level III/IV NICU experience required
- Must be comfortable with frequent trach care and heavy parent/family involvement
- 2 manager or supervisor-level references required for consideration (charge nurse references not accepted)
Additional Information
- Two-part interview process: an initial screening with the Float Pool Leader within 24–48 hours, followed by a second review or interview conducted by the NICU unit manager
- RTO requests are reviewed as part of the interview process
- Candidates must not have worked permanently for this facility within the past 2 years
- Local candidates are not accepted for this RN position
- Floating is a strong expectation of the facility and travelers must be prepared to adapt to varying unit assignments
- First-time travelers are not explicitly excluded but Level III/IV NICU experience requirements should be carefully considered
