Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab Technologist with experience scrubbing cases, running image intensifier, and performing fluoroscopy in a Level III Cardiac Cath Lab setting.

Details

• Level III Cardiac Cath Lab with 3 procedure rooms
• High-volume unit averaging 10+ cases per day
• Cases include structural heart, left heart, peripheral vascular, ECMO, and Impella procedures
• Patient population ranges from adolescent through geriatric
• 4x10-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM, no block scheduling
• Call requirement includes 1 night per week (5:00 PM – 7:30 AM) and approximately every 4th weekend (Friday 5:00 PM through Monday 7:30 AM)
• Local candidates are accepted

Requirements

• ARRT certification required
• Current BLS and ACLS required
• License required if applicable
• Minimum education: Vocational/Technical Degree in RCIS, Radiology Technology, or an accredited Electrophysiology program (Bachelor's degree preferred)
• Ability to scrub cases, operate image intensifier (II), and perform fluoroscopy
• Experience with structural heart, left heart catheterization, peripheral vascular, ECMO, and Impella procedures
• Ability to recognize normal and abnormal ECG patterns and monitor multiple data sources simultaneously
• Analytical ability to perform calculations for diagnosis and treatment of cardiac abnormalities
• Ability to calculate and administer drug dosages appropriately
• Must be able to lift and position patients as required
• Ability to work flexible schedules including on-call rotation
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates
• Proof of address, full SSN, DOB, 1 supervisory reference, and copy of certifications required for consideration

Additional Information

• Assist with cardiac electrophysiology studies and ablation procedures including equipment calibration, procedure setup, patient prep, and diagnostic data collection
• Operate and maintain complex electrical equipment and recording devices in the cath lab and OR environment
• Maintain a radiologically and electronically safe environment, including use of all required PPE such as lead apron and thyroid shield
• Manage lab supplies using FIFO methodology and support accurate procedure billing
• Pass/Fail EKG test administered on the first day of orientation; 2 attempts permitted and study guides will be provided
