Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a rural Level 4 Trauma facility in Moab, UT, requiring strong critical thinking skills and comfort with a high level of clinical autonomy.
Details
- Rural Level 4 Trauma Center emergency department setting
- Patient population spans all ages, from neonates to geriatrics
- RN serves in both triage and primary care roles within the ED
- Responsibilities include starting EKGs, IVs, drawing labs, administering and mixing medications, and providing comfort measures
- Schedule is 3x12-hour shifts with variable day/night rotation
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active, unencumbered UT RN license or compact state license currently in hand
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school required
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in a med/surg and/or emergency department setting
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS, PALS, and TNCC required or must be obtained
- Knowledge of infection control principles, patient safety techniques, and medication/treatment adverse reaction prevention
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs independently and beyond 50 lbs with assistance
Additional Information
- Provide broad-spectrum emergency nursing care with a high degree of autonomy as part of a small, collaborative team
- Strong critical thinking skills required, particularly in rapidly changing clinical situations
- Blue scrubs preferred
- Holiday coverage required for: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day
- Pre-employment drug test and background check required
