Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiothoracic ICU position requiring ECMO experience, prior travel experience, and a TX or compact RN license.

Details

• Cardiothoracic ICU setting within an acute care hospital
• Average daily census of 7 patients across 10 beds
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Floating required to cardiac stepdown and other units of equal or lesser acuity
• Documentation via Epic (experience required; proficiency preferred)
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Requirements

• Active TX RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of Cardiothoracic ICU experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• ECMO experience required
• Proficiency in interpretation of dysrhythmias, multisystem organ failure management, intra-aortic balloon pump, post cardiac surgery care, pulmonary artery line/Swan-Ganz monitoring, arterial line management, central line and PICC line management, continuous IV sedation, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, care of ventilated patients, and ABG interpretation
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — applicants residing in the following counties are not accepted: Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, and Morris
• Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved; no RTO during the first week of orientation
• Dark gray scrubs required
• Travel pairs or groups will not be considered
