Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiothoracic ICU position requiring ECMO experience, prior travel experience, and a TX or compact RN license.
Details
- Cardiothoracic ICU setting within an acute care hospital
- Average daily census of 7 patients across 10 beds
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Floating required to cardiac stepdown and other units of equal or lesser acuity
- Documentation via Epic (experience required; proficiency preferred)
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Requirements
- Active TX RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of Cardiothoracic ICU experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- ECMO experience required
- Proficiency in interpretation of dysrhythmias, multisystem organ failure management, intra-aortic balloon pump, post cardiac surgery care, pulmonary artery line/Swan-Ganz monitoring, arterial line management, central line and PICC line management, continuous IV sedation, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, care of ventilated patients, and ABG interpretation
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
Additional Information
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — applicants residing in the following counties are not accepted: Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, and Morris
- Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler
- No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved; no RTO during the first week of orientation
- Dark gray scrubs required
- Travel pairs or groups will not be considered
