Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel Occupational Therapist for an outpatient position in Valdez, AK, with a largely pediatric focus across outpatient, inpatient, and long-term care settings.

• Outpatient department serving a pediatric-focused population, with responsibilities extending across inpatient, swing bed, long-term care (LTC), and outpatient settings
• 4x10 day shift schedule; block schedule accommodations available
• No on-call or floating requirements within the unit
• Epic EMR required
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Requirements

• Current, active OT license required (license required if applicable)
• Minimum 1 year of OT experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• Experience with acute disorders, chronic disorders, functional activities, standardized assessments, developmental testing/treatment, and mental health/intellectual disability populations required
• Proficiency in Epic EMR required
• Prior pediatric and inpatient OT experience preferred
• Experience with outpatient, acute care, and LTC/SNF settings preferred
• Skills in national patient safety goals/core measures, billing, feeding techniques (oral/motor), and disability sequence testing preferred
• Ability to transition between inpatient, outpatient, and LTC settings required
• Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required for consideration
• SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• Valid driver's license and proof of personal vehicle insurance (including rental car coverage) required prior to operating facility-provided vehicle

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
• Former permanent staff of any Providence facility must be separated for at least 3 months before working as a traveler
• Local candidates are not accepted; permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility
• Time off requests are approved on an individual basis and should be discussed at the time of offer; minimal RTO is strongly preferred
• Facility provides housing (typically a 1-bedroom apartment) and a shared-use vehicle for the duration of the assignment
• Housing is available no earlier than 72 hours before contract start and must be vacated within 24 hours of contract end; housing must be cleaned upon departure or additional cleaning fees apply
• Pets are not permitted in facility-provided housing; accommodating additional family members is uncommon and requires facility approval
• Facility-provided vehicle is for local use only (within 30 miles of facility) and may not be taken off-road; vehicle must be returned clean and with a full tank of gas
• Only the traveler is authorized to operate the facility-provided vehicle; vehicle must be turned in during any time off periods
• All travelers are expected to float between facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in assignment termination
