Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Surgical ICU (SICU) position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience, ACLS/BLS certifications, and Epic proficiency for a 13-week night shift contract.

Details

Work in the Surgical ICU (SICU) of an acute care hospital
Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Every other weekend (EOW) required
Holiday coverage expected for 1 of 2 major upcoming holidays and surrounding days (e.g., Memorial Day or July 4th)
No on-call responsibilities
Floating may be required to other ICU floors
Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

Active PA RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
Surgical ICU or comparable critical care experience required
Proficiency with Epic EMR required
2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration

Additional Information

Candidates undergo a clinical pre-screening process to assess clinical fit prior to manager review; a manager interview is required
May care for COVID-positive patients
This is a tobacco-free and fragrance-free facility
All time-off requests must be submitted upfront; max 7 days of RTO allowed for the contract

Loved the people! Found them really easy to work with and they have a lot of very knowledgeable staff members. As long as you know what you’re doing and willing to help out in any way they are more than happy to work with you!

Cons

Sometimes the schedule can be confusing with rotating shifts and call schedules that don’t align well with your scheduled shifts. But again if there is a major concern they’ll try and work with you on it!
