Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring SANE certification and floating between two ER locations.

Details

• 13-week assignment in the Emergency Department of a Short Term Acute Care hospital with 104 staffed beds
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• General ED serving combined adult/pediatric, non-trauma population
• STEMI and Stroke certified facility
• Cares for patients including trauma, gunshot wounds, traumatic amputation, head injury, spinal cord injury, and pediatrics
• Handles cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and triage
• Uses Meditech Expanse for charting (preferred experience)
• Required to float or take call at a second ER location approximately 20 minutes from the main ER
• May float between the two ED locations depending on volume/census
• Must work at least one holiday

Requirements

• Active IN or compact RN license
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, CPI, and SANE certification required in hand at time of consideration
• ENPC, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
• Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, arterial line management, blood product administration, and central line care
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
• Ability to interpret ABGs and manage continuous IV sedation and vasopressors

• First-time travelers are accepted
• Local candidates within a 50-mile radius are accepted; a $15/hour rate differential applies for local status
• Maximum RTO is 7 days, with at least 1 of 3 major holidays required if RTO falls during that period
• Only 1 RTO request permitted
• Returning staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 3 years before returning as a traveler
• Up to 8 hours of onboarding modules preferred to be completed within 1 week of signing
