Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position at a Level 1 Trauma Center in Rock Island, IL, requiring 2 years of experience and proficiency with specialized procedures including chest tubes, trachs, and central lines.

Details

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Med-Surg setting within a Level 1 Trauma Center hospital
• Day shift, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM with a 6:45 AM start time
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating may be required within the same discipline across local campuses
• EMR: Epic
• Experience with chest tubes, femstops, trachs, CBIs, drains, and central lines required
• Experience administering and titrating vasoactive and cardiac drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, Heparin, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Isuprel, Milrinone, and Argatroban required

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required at time of consideration; IA RN license also required (may be pending at start but must be obtained — proof of application accepted during compliance)
• Current BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) certifications required and must be active at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• One supervisory reference from within the past 2 years required
• Driver's license required
• Skills checklist completed within the past year required
• Must have a taxable home address more than 50 miles from the facility
• Must not have been employed by UnityPoint Health within the past 12 months

• Contributes professional and clinical knowledge in the provision and management of patient care as part of an interdisciplinary team

• Holiday coverage required — travelers must work 2 of the 3 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's)
• Time off requests during the Thanksgiving and Christmas/New Year's holiday windows are limited to 1 day per window
• 13-week contract
