Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring at least 2 years of experience, prior travel nursing, and EKG rhythm interpretation skills.
Details
- Hospital-based Med/Surg Telemetry unit
- Patient ratio of 1:5 or 1:6
- Telemetry monitoring skills required for this unit
- Night shift schedule: 6:20 PM – 7:00 AM (3x12-hour shifts per week)
- Every other weekend requirement
- Must be available to work 2 out of 3 winter holidays, as well as other holidays during the contract
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required within units of equivalent or lower acuity
- Cerner EMR experience preferred
- Patient population includes gender affirmation surgery patients; comfort with this population is required, though direct experience is preferred but not mandatory
Requirements
- Active MD or Compact RN license required
- Current BLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
- Minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience required
- At least 1 prior travel nursing assignment required
- Must successfully pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score of 80% and a perfect score of 100% on lethal rhythms
- Telemetry skills required
- 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
- Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration

- Flu vaccine required for all staff at this facility
- May come into contact with COVID-positive patients
- Navy blue scrubs required; scrubs are not provided
- Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility should inquire about local rate eligibility
- First-time travelers are not eligible for this position

I do not have anything negative other than you need to fight with sone to all9w you gain some admission, emergency and critical patient stabilisation experience since they invade such patients which may leave you hanging while the resuscitation happens.
