Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room/Surgery position in Santa Fe, NM, requiring at least 1 year of OR experience and AHA-issued BLS and ACLS certifications.

Details

• Day shift position with hours from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM
• General Surgery department within a regional medical center
• Primary work location is a physician medical center, with required floating to the main campus as staffing needs dictate
• Weekend work is not required, but staff may volunteer to pick up call at the main campus
• No formal on-call requirement; however, staff are expected to remain and complete any cases that run past the scheduled block time
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active NM RN license or current Compact state RN license
• BLS and ACLS certifications required, both issued through AHA
• Minimum 1 year of OR/surgical nursing experience
• Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program
• Knowledge and skills appropriate to the age and type of patient population served
• Ability to perform prolonged standing and walking, heavy patient positioning and transfers, and tasks requiring fine motor coordination
• SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provides coordinated, age-appropriate patient care in a safe and efficient manner consistent with unit standards
• Works under the direction of a Patient Care Director or Manager
• Work environment involves exposure to bloodborne pathogens, infectious diseases, and x-rays
• Candidates must live beyond a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel pay rates
